While the assemblage of a complete set of Hartlands is an attainable goal for most collectors, the acquisition of the original retail boxes and tags is not. Naturally, most of the boxes and tags were either lost, discarded, or accidentally destroyed shortly after the statue was removed from its box, understandably resulting in their great rarity today. Offered here is a remarkable near-complete set of fifteen Hartland tags that represents a bonanza for any advanced Hartland collector. Missing only the tags for Killebrew and Groat for completion (the tag for Roger Maris was never issued). Unless otherwise noted, all of the tags are in Near Mint condition and are complete with their original string. The collection is comprised of Aparicio, Aaron, Banks (Ex-Mt), Berra, Colavito (Ex-Mt), Drysdale, Fox, Mantle (Vg), Mathews, Mays, Musial (Ex), Ruth (Gd-Vg; a razor-thin line bisects the tag below the Ruth facsimile signature but it does not penetrate through to the back of the tag; light adhesive residue, most likely from tape, covers the segment of the tag below the line), Snider (Vg), Spahn, and Williams (Ex-Mt). Total: 15 tags. Reserve $300. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $2,015
