Extremely sharp sample card collection of six baseball game playing cards featuring major league ball players (except one generic ball player), spanning the years 1884 to 1906, representing five different extremely high quality issues, and including two Hall of Famers. 1) 1884 Lawson: Baseman 3 (SGC NM+ 86). 2) 1888 WG1: Pfeffer (Vg). 3) 1889 E. R. Williams: Glasscock/Tucker (Nr/Mt). 4) 1906 WG2 Fan Craze American League: Wallace (HOF, PSA EX-MT 6). 5) 1906 WG3 Fan Craze National League (2 cards): Bresnahan (HOF, PSA NM 7) and Taylor (PSA NM-MT 8). This is an extremely attractive, high-grade group of these early classics, carefully assembled as ideal representative examples by a very advanced longtime collector. The 1888 WG1 and the 1889 E. R. Williams cards are standouts, but all are highlights. In the opinion of many, these quality game-card issues represent one of the best values of all cards dating from the nineteenth century and early 1900s. This is an impressive group. The SMR value for just the three PSA-graded WG2 and WG3 Fan Craze cards is $865 (not including the E. R.Williams, WG1, or Lawson). Total: 6 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $948
