Two rare badges worn by police officers during the 1950s while on duty patrolling Yankee Stadium. The first, a large silver-colored badge (2.25 x 3 inches), numbered "138," reads "Special/Yankee Stadium/Police." Complete with its large safety-pin clasp reverse. The second, a smaller (2.25 x 2.5 inches), gold-colored badge, is unnumbered and reads "Yankee Stadium Police Lieutenant." While a few of the larger, numbered badges circulate in the hobby, and come to auction occasionally, we have never seen the smaller Lieutenant's badge before, and it is obviously exceedingly rare. The Lieutenant's badge displays some minor tarnishing on the front, otherwise both badges are in Near Mint condition. Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $830
