Rare original partially-complete unopened wax box of 1965 Topps Baseball housing a total of eleven 6th Series wax packs (out of the twenty-four packs that were originally in the box) with each pack containing five cards. The eleven packs in the box represent a total of 55 cards. The 1965 Topps display box, featuring headshots of Hall of Famers Mantle, Koufax, and Killebrew on the top lid, has visually always been one of the most exciting Topps counter-display box designs. The 1965 Topps 6th Series (#447-522) includes Steve Carlton (rookie), Yogi Berra, Ed Mathews, Ernie Banks, and many other Hall of Famers. While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to grading of unopened material, there is, of course, the very real possibility that within this box are Gem Mint cards of these and other stars. The packs are in Excellent or better condition (except two packs have light surface abrasions on the back). The box has normal light shelf wear. This is a rarely seen original display box with eleven unopened wax packs of this popular issue, looking exactly as it did when it sat on the candy-counter shelf forty-five years ago. Reserve $400. Estimate $800+.
