Attractive group of three N172 Old Judge cards, highlighted by Hall of Famer "Old Hoss" Radbourn, each graded and encapsulated by SGC: 1) "Old Hoss" Radbourn/Boston (GOOD 30). Double-player pose tagging Billy Nash. Crystal-clear image. This is a stunning card with outstanding contrast! The back has evidence of glue residue (very common with Old Judges), which is the cause of the modest grade. This is an extremely attractive example of one of the nineteenth century's key Hall of Famers. 2) Jim Mutrie/New York (GOOD 30). Posed seated with derby hat in lap. Legendary New York Giants manager James Mutrie was always well known for his fine dress and immaculate grooming, both of which are clearly evident on his Old Judge baseball card. One of the leading figures in the game in the 1880s, Mutrie led the prominent New York club to three Championships during that decade. Well centered, with evenly rounded corners, and the photo is a little light. The reverse has a little tape and glue residue from scrapbook removal. 3) Billy Nash/Boston (FAIR 20). Rare portrait pose. Outstanding photo contrast. Corner rounding (a little more so in the lower right) and with moderate soiling on the blank reverse, this is a magnificent example of one of the most striking and scarce portrait cards in the Old Judge set. This is an impressive trio of particularly noteworthy N172s highlighted by Hall of Famer "Old Hoss" Radbourn. Total 3 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,528
