Collection of ten complete factory-vending sets comprised of 1974 Topps baseball (660 cards per set). In addition, each set also includes the 1974 "Traded" set (44 cards per "Traded" set) for a total of 704 cards per set. All 7,040 Topps cards comprising these ten complete sets were assembled directly from vending cases in the year of issue. Our consignor, a longtime hobbyist (who as a professional photographer was responsible for hundreds of photos that appeared on baseball cards in the 1970s and 1980s) purchased these cards in their year of issue and has had them safely stored away for over thirty years! Six of the ten boxes housing the sets are taped shut and have never been opened. These are virtually untouched sets. The sets grade 98% Nr/Mt or better, 2% Ex-Mt, with the normal number of off-center cards that are to be expected. The 1974 Topps set includes cards of Nolan Ryan, Mike Schmidt, Tom Seaver, Reggie Jackson, Dave Winfield (RC), and Pete Rose. All the other stars of the day are also included. These extraordinarily high-grade unopened vending sets look exactly as they did when they were assembled and stored away in the closet in 1974. Total 7,040 cards (ten complete sets of 704). Reserve $2,500. Estimate (open).
