Three all-time classic 1960s Hall of Fame premium cards are each represented in quantity in this extremely unusual high-grade lot: 1967 Dexter Press Roberto Clemente, Al Kaline, and Brooks Robinson. A total of twenty-seven assorted examples of these three Hall of Fame cards are presented here. These very attractive cards (5.5 x 7 inches) were issued in team sets as premiums by Coca-Cola. The reason these cards have not received more attention from collectors has always been a mystery to us, but is no doubt related to larger-than-standard card size and the general scarcity of the issue. Most collectors are just not familiar with this set, yet its production quality is unrivaled. This is a very strong group in terms of condition. Three of the cards have been graded and encapsulated by PSA. The grades range from Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt+, with the majority of the cards grading Near Mint or better. The collection is comprised of the following: 1) Roberto Clemente (17 cards): One card is graded PSA NM-MT 8 (two other examples in this grade sold at auction in 2009 for $3,763 and $1,479, respectively). 2) Al Kaline (6 cards): One card is graded PSA MINT 9. 3) Brooks Robinson (4 cards): One card is graded NM 7. This is a very crisp, clean high-grade collection of three 1960s Hall of Famer cards, issued when each of these great stars was at the peak of his career. Total 27 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000++.
