A collection of five 1960 Fleer uncut production sheets (four different and one duplicate), with twelve cards on each sheet, and with printed reverses. In 1960 Fleer would have preferred to put out a set featuring current stars, but unable to do so due to Topps' ironclad contracts with all the modern players (except Ted Williams), Fleer came up with the idea for this old-timers set to keep its foot in the trading-card game. Four of the twelve-card sheets together represent more than half of the complete set of this popular 1960s series, in original uncut form. 1-2) Two Sheet 1: #21, 24, 25, 26, 29, 30, 31, 34, 35, 36 Ott, 39, and 40 Tinker. 3) Sheet 2: #41, 44 Anson, 45, 46 Plank, 49, 50, 51, 54, 55, 56, 59, and 60. 4) Sheet 3: #42 Cobb, 43, 44 Anson, 47 Young, 48, 49, 52, 53 Foxx, 54, 57, 58, and 59. 5) Sheet 4: #62 Wagner, 63, 64, 67, 68, 69, 72 Ted Williams, 73, 74, 77, 78, and 79. Ideal for display. This is a very unusual form for this set. All sheets are bright, crisp, and clean, both front and back. Excellent to Mint condition. Dimensions: each measures 14 x 7.5 inches. Total: 5 sheets. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $705
