Graded NM/MT 88 by SGC. Striking high-grade rookie card of Hall of Fame pitcher Sandy Koufax. Only eleven examples have ever been graded higher by SGC (five SGC NM-MT+ 92 and six SGC 96 MINT 96). This is one of the 1950s' most famous and noteworthy cards. The 1955 Topps Koufax rookie (#123) is also the most valuable card in that year's set after Roberto Clemente's rookie card in the high-number series. The card displays four sharp corners, with brilliant colors, near-perfect centering, and flawless registration. Only a few printing specs in the yellow background, which is so common to this card, keep this gem from an even higher grade. This is a stunning world-class example of Sandy Koufax's rookie card, one of the most popular and classic of all 1950s bubble-gum cards. The equivalent SMR value is $2,200. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $1,880
