Graded NM 7 by PSA. Magnificent high-grade example of Sandy Koufax's rookie card. The 1955 Topps Koufax rookie (#123) is the second most valuable card in that year's set, only surpassed by Roberto Clemente's rookie card in the high-number series. Bright, crisp, and clean, with four sharp corners showing just the slightest hint of wear, perfect registration, and centered slightly to the bottom (approximately 60/40 T/B). The few extremely light printing specs in the yellow background, which are typical of this card, are mentioned strictly for the sake of accuracy. Usually this card is offered by Robert Edward Auctions only in the context of a complete set, but we are presenting this modern classic as its own lot in part to emphasize that, with patience, some of card collecting's most interesting and noteworthy cards are possible to collect in extremely high grade without spending a fortune. Sandy Koufax's rookie card will always be one of the most famous and popular cards of the 1950s. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $1,175
