Graded VG-EX+ 4.5 by PSA. Strong Near Mint appearance!!! Outstanding ultra high-grade Cracker Jack of Honus Wagner. This card may be the best PSA VG-EX+ 4.5 Cracker Jack in the universe! If you cover up the label and just look at the card, you will think you are looking at a PSA NM 7 or PSA NM-MT 8 card. This is a blazing factory-set example of one of the most sought-after cards of the “Flying Dutchman." We have looked long and hard at this gem. Bright, crisp, and perfectly fresh. There are no stains or blemishes of any kind. The red color of the background is deep and vibrant. The card is pristine. The borders are bright and perfectly clean, as is the entire card, both front and back. All four corners are sharp. There is an extremely miniscule paper wrinkle on the reverse that can be seen under magnification that is the cause of this card being downgraded by PSA. We are actually including a magnifying glass with this card and have put a little sticker on the back of the slab to help locate the wrinkle. (We're not kidding. We've never done this before, but we want to emphasize that without a magnifying glass, and having the location of the wrinkle pointed out, it might be impossible to find. But it is there.) If not for this extremely minor flaw, this card would easily grade a PSA 7. It presents as a strong Nr/Mt or better card. This is an extraordinary example of one of Honus Wagner's most classic cards. The SMR value is $1,350 in VG-EX 4, $2,250 in EX 5, $4,000 in EX-MT 6, $7,500 in NM 7, and $16,000 in NM-MT 8. We're not sure how the market will value a card like this, but we do strongly believe this card deserves a significant premium to the PSA VG-EX 4 value listed for this card in SMR. Reserve $1,000. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $8,813
