Collection of twenty-eight different 1914 E145 Cracker Jack cards including one "Black Sox" member (#94 Edward Cicotte), each graded and encapsulated by SGC. The 1914 #144 series Cracker Jacks are far rarer than their 1915 counterparts, because the 1914 cards were not available by mail, and could only be obtained one card per package in boxes of Cracker Jacks. Because of their method of issue, 1914 Cracker Jacks are also almost always found with various condition problems including caramel staining. This is a very strong group from a very old-time collection, with cards that could help fill in or upgrade almost any 1914 Cracker Jack collection, or serve as an ideal foundation for collecting the set. The SGC grades are as follows: One NM 84: #128 Evans. One EX/NM 80: #47 Devore. Three EX+ 70: #108 Magee, 111 Callahan, and 134 Marsans. Nine EX 60: #27 Carrigan, 56 Milan, 58 Schang, 62 Cashion, 79 Bodie, 97 Benton, 113 Suggs, 114 Moriarty, and 141 Barger. Fourteen VG/EX 50: # 16 Camnitz, 24 Mullin, 28 Barry, 31 Wagner, 44 Tesreau, 45 Luderus, 51 Rucker, 59 Gessler, 87 Cady, 94 Cicotte ("Black Sox" member), 98 Laporte, 100 Seaton, 102 Fisher, and 140 Murphy. This is a very attractive high-grade collection of one of card collecting's most classic sets, with half the cards grading Ex or better, which is extremely strong for this particular issue. Total 28 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$4,000+. SOLD FOR $8,813
