Graded EX 5 by PSA. Only example graded at this level by PSA. This is the highest non-qualified Donlin example in the entire PSA population report. (Note: two examples are graded higher but with qualifiers.) Crisp, clean, high-grade example of T207 "Turkey Mike" Donlin, one of the most important great stars of the era and the set, and by chance also one of the rare cards in the set. This card has a strong Nr/Mt appearance and has been downgraded from Ex-Mt to Ex by PSA because of a slight hint of too much corner wear and light edge wear near the lower left corner of the reverse. Today collectors recognize many cards as being of various degrees of rarity in the T207 set including “Turkey Mike" Donlin. This example is very sharp and clean, centered a hint to the top, with corners displaying light, even wear. Rare Cycle Cigarettes advertisement on reverse. Though not a Hall of Famer, "Turkey Mike" Donlin was one of best-known and most legendary players of the dead-ball era. He was also a superb hitter. He batted over .300 ten times in twelve Major League seasons, and hit .356 with a league-high of 124 runs scored in 1905. A very attractive high-grade example of this important rarity from the classic T207 Brown Background series. Reserve $1,000. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $6,463
