Graded NM 7 (OC) by PSA. Only one example graded higher (a non-qualified PSA NM 7). Extremely rare and highly desirable card from the 1912 T207 tobacco series featuring future “Black Sox” member Buck Weaver during his Major League playing days with Chicago. This is an outstanding high-grade example! This is a very strong card, perfectly clean front and back, with four square corners displaying a hint of wear, and a brilliant image centered to the bottom (approximately 80/20 with a slight diamond cut). Centering issues are typical for the set, and we have seen many far more off-center T207s than this example. Though the OC qualifier is justified, in our eyes the centering on this card is not particularly distracting. This is still by far the best T207 Weaver we have ever seen! There is no cigarette company advertisement on the reverse. Today these no-ad back cards are often referred to as "Anonymous" brand cards by collectors; in the old days many collectors referred to these as issued by Coupon Tobacco. Tremendous eye-appeal! This is an extremely desirable card both to Black Sox collectors and as one of the key rarities from the 1912 T207 Brown Background series, one of the premier tobacco-card sets of the era. Reserve $1,000. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $1,880
