Extraordinary collection of twelve different cards from the 1911 T205 Gold Borders set, all of which are very scarce variation cards that are naturally in high demand by collectors assembling master T205 sets. This is a special, and in our experience, unique opportunity for anyone collecting T205 Gold Borders. Each card is graded and encapsulated by PSA or SGC: 1) Dougherty/red sock (SGC VG/EX 50); 2) Dougherty/white sock (PSA VG-EX 4); 3) Hoblitzell/"Cin." after 2nd 1908 (SGC VG/EX 50); 4) Hoblitzell/name incorrect-no "Cin." (PSA VG 3 [MC]); 5) Hoblitzell/name correct-no "Cin." (SGC EX 60); 6) Latham/"A" on back (PSA EX 5, Polar Bear back); 7) Latham/"W.A." on back (PSA EX 5); 8) Leifield/"A." on front (PSA VG-EX 4); 9) Leifield/ "A.P." on front (PSA VG-EX 4 [MC]); 10) Moran/stray line below stats (SGC VG/EX 50, Polar Bear back); 11) Wilhelm/"suffe ed" in 18th line (PSA VG-EX 4); 12) Wilhelm/"suffered" in 18th line (PSA VG 3). The T205 Gold Border set is one of card collecting's most popular sets. They are also one of vintage-card collecting's most condition-sensitive issues. This is a significant group of particularly scarce T205s, assembled by a very dedicated collector with a concern for overall eye appeal. These twelve cards would fill holes in most near-complete sets and make a significant contribution to virtually any master T205 set in the process of being assembled. The equivalent SMR value for the assigned grades is $2,955. Total 12 cards. Reserve $800. Estimate $1,500/$2,500. SOLD FOR $5,288
