Presented is a beautifully assembled high-grade matched set of Tinker, Evers, and Chance, famed members of the Chicago Cubs infield, from the T205 Gold Border series. Each card has been graded and encapsulated EX/NM 80 by SGC: 1) Frank Chance. The card is perfectly centered, with four sharp corners displaying just a hint of wear on the tips, perfect colors, and light tobacco stains on the reverse. Polar Bear advertisement on the reverse. 2) John Evers. Very well centered example with a perfect image, flawless colors, four square corners showing just a hint of light, even wear, and a perfectly clean reverse with bold blue printing. Very close to NR-MT. Outstanding card! Piedmont advertisement on back. 3) Joe Tinker. Bright, crisp, and perfectly clean front and back, with four sharp corners (bottom right has a touch of wear with a little white showing), one tiny chip along the right edge of the gold border, and centered approximately 65/35 top to bottom. The reverse is perfectly clean with flawless red printing. Sweet Caporal advertisement on reverse. Three key Hall of Famer cards of extremely high quality from one of the premier tobacco-card sets of the 1910 era. Total 3 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500.
