Graded VG 40 by SGC. Rare Demmitt, St. Louis Americans T206 variation. Polar Bear was the only company to issue this T206 variation. The packaged cards issued with Polar Bear tobacco were not well protected from the accompanying product; thus almost all Demmitts have condition problems, including at least some tobacco staining. This example has scattered light pinpoint staining (not uncommon with T206 Polar Bear cards), a slight diamond cut, and a few light creases. Bright and crisp, with extremely fresh colors, this is a very attractive example in Very Good condition of one of the rarest and most desirable cards in the classic T206 White Border set. From the Charlie Conlon Collection. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500+.
