Graded EX+ 70 by SGC. Highest-graded example! Amazing ultra high-grade example of Hall of Famer Napoleon Lajoie from the M110 Sporting Life cabinet-card set issued in 1911. This auction includes the complete M110 set, assembled and presented by the same consignor, with each card offered individually. This is the highest-graded card of the six cards in the set, and in fact is the highest-graded M110 not just of Lajoie, but of any player in the set ever evaluated by SGC! This is one of Lajoie's rarest and most attractive cards, and one of the key Hall of Famers in the M110 Sporting Life cabinet set. M110s are similar in design to, but far rarer than, the contemporary T3 Turkey Red cabinets. These cards have always been highly respected for their extreme rarity as well as their impressive design and distinctive style. This is an extraordinary high-grade Sporting Life cabinet-card sample. The card has just the slightest hint of corner wear (primarily the lower right) and is otherwise in virtually flawless condition. This card is a gem! Bright, fresh, and impeccably clean, both front and back, with perfect registration, and with flawless bold blue text on the reverse. Very conservatively graded EX+ by SGC, this card has a strong Excellent to Mint appearance. This is a magnificent example of one of Lajoie’s rarest and most impressive cards in spectacular high grade. Dimensions: 5-5/8 x 7-1/2 inches. Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000+. SOLD FOR $8,225
