This empty display box once held twenty-four five-cent packs of Addams Family bubble-gum cards, which were produced by Donruss in 1964. The box lid features a color photo of the ghoulish clan, including Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Pugsley, and Wednesday, along with an illustration of the family's house. A similar photo appears on the front side panel. The Addams Family , which was based upon a series of cartoons created by Charles Addams, debuted in 1964 and ran for two seasons. Despite its short run, the series has remained in syndication for nearly fifty years and has also been the subject of two popular feature films. The box (8 x 4 x 1.75 inches), which has been professionally sealed in cellophane, remains in impeccable condition given its age and fragile nature. This is the finest example of this classic nonsport display box we have ever seen. Aside from a few tiny creases on the lid, the box is in Near Mint condition, looking just as it did when first displayed on a candy-store counter in 1964. Reserve $100. Estimate $200/$400.
