Collection of three photos, culled from The Chicago Sun Times archives, picturing, respectively, Joe Tinker, Johnny Evers, and Nap Lajoie. 1) Photo of Joe Tinker as player/manager of the Chicago Feds in 1914 (6.75 x 10.5 inches). Reverse markings consist of two date stamps ("Apr 18 1916" and "Aug 12 1930") and editorial notations. Exceptional clarity. Federal League photos are rare, and this is an outstanding image dating from the league's inaugural season, with Tinker's Chicago Federals logo on his uniform very prominently displayed. Mounted to a thick cardboard backing. 2) Photo of Johnny Evers as a member of the Cubs (6.25 x 8.5 inches). Reverse markings consist of three dates stamps (all reading "Apr 1 1947") and editorial notations, including one that reads "John J. Evers (Manager)." Evers is pictured wearing a team sweater, which precludes dating the image by means of the uniform style. However, Evers was only manager of the Cubs in 1913 and 1921. Based upon his appearance here, this image most likely dates to 1921. Partially mounted onto a heavy paper backing. Large corner chip in the upper right. 3) Photo of Nap Lajoie, presumably as a member of the Cleveland Naps (7 x 10 inches). Reverse markings consist of editorial notations. Although undated, given his appearance, it most likely dates to circa 1911. Mounted to a thick cardboard backing. Heavy editorial outlining and shading. All of the photos display a few very minor flaws common to nearly all working press photos, including creases, edge tears, and editorial markings on the front. In Very Good condition overall. Total: 3 photos. Reserve $200. Estimate $500+.
