Graded EX 5 by PSA. Presented is an extraordinary high-grade example of one of the key Hall of Famers from the prized T204 Ramly series: Jesse Burkett. Burkett is one of only fifteen Hall of Famers in the Ramly Tobacco set. In addition to being one of the most important cards in the Ramly set, this is arguably the most majestic of the very few cards ever issued of Jesse Burkett. Burkett's career spanned sixteen years (1890-1905). During his career he batted over .400 three times, a feat duplicated only by Ty Cobb and Rogers Hornsby. After leaving the Major Leagues, Burkett owned and managed the Worcester club of the New England League (the team with which he is featured on this card), from 1906 to 1913, making regular appearances in the outfield until he was 45. The card has four square corners and very little wear to the extremely condition-sensitive borders. The portrait is crystal-clear, and both the front and back are clean. Centered just a hint to the bottom right. This is an extremely attractive high-grade example of one of the most important cards from this beautiful and extremely condition-sensitive set. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000+. SOLD FOR $9,988
