Collection of three W600 Sporting Life cabinets comprised exclusively of Hall of Famers, highlighted by Ty Cobb, each of which has a trim across the top and bottom. 1) Ty Cobb (5-3/8 x 6-3/8 inches). The image area is virtually flawless. One piece of paper tape across the blank back. 2) Addie Joss (5-3/16 x 6-1/2 inches). Heavy moisture stain (most prominent on reverse) with two pieces of paper tape and a newspaper remnant on the reverse. 3) Christy Mathewson (5-3/8 x 6-1/2 inches). Moisture stain in lower portion of card on the front and back, with a piece of paper tape across the reverse. While condition is always of utmost importance with regard to value, and these are low-grade examples, the cards are clean, the portraits are unaffected by the condition problems, and the integrity of each card remains very much intact. W600s are rare and each of these three are among the most prominent Hall of Famers in the set. These W600 were just recently discovered (along with three higher grade examples, also Hall of Famers, offered together as a separate lot in this auction) by a political items collector who in his travels just happened to come across these rare cards. This group represents a very rare, possibly unique opportunity to obtain extremely attractive low-grade examples of these significant high-demand rarities for a small fraction of what these cards would sell for in an undamaged state. Total 3 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $7,050
