Mickey Mantle H&B pro-model commemorative bat signed in blue Sharpie by approximately 140 former New York Yankees. This is the ultimate New York Yankees signed display piece and we cannot recall having ever seen another multisigned bat featuring this many signatures. The reason why this bat can accommodate so many signatures is due in large part to the use of a fine-point sharpie by most of the signers. Obviously, the original owner of this bat had grand plans right from the start and realized that the only way he could obtain his goal was by forgoing the standard Sharpie and insisting that a more precise writing instrument be used. The result is what we see here: small, concise, and, most important, extremely legible signatures, which greatly enhance the display value of the piece. Ideally, this bat can easily accommodate many additional signatures along the handle if one were inclined to augment it down the road. Featured on this bat are the signatures of Yankee players past and present, including Mantle, Ford, Berra, Rizzuto, R. Jackson, Gossage, Lemon, Niekro, Hunter, Slaughter, Winfield, Perry, Rivers, Gooden, Tiant, John, McDougald, H. Lopez, Mattingly, Murcer, Dent, Randolph, Skowron, Piniella, Colavito, Guidry, Sain, Torre, Reynolds, Tidrow, Larsen, Blackwell, White, Arroyo, Blair, Pepitone, Terry, Houk, Boyer, Woodling, May, Sax, Downing, Shantz, Russo, Bloomberg, Duren, Turley, Nettles, Clarke, Henrich, Noren, Lopat, Grim, Branca, Linz, Trucks, Montefusco, Chambliss, C. Johnson, Gumpert, Torborg, E. Robinson, Tresh, Silvera, Kekich, Hassett, Ostrowski, Peterson, Showalter, Torrez, Lyle, Coleman, Bahnsen, Sturdivant, Burdette, Cary, and Shea. The signatures range in grade from "5" to "10," averaging "9." The bat (35 inches in length) is in Near Mint condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,115
