Graded GOOD 2 by PSA. Extremely attractive but relatively affordable example of Cap Anson from the colorful 1888 N162 Goodwin Champions set. Anson is the key card from this very popular fifty-card set issued by Old Judge and Gypsy Queen Cigarettes. This example is bright and crisp, with flawless colors and perfect registration. The front appears Vg-Ex but upon close inspection there is evidence of a few tiny pinpoint chips of paper loss on Anson's jersey (very difficult to even find) and a tiny light stain in the center of the top border. The reverse has light toning, and a few tiny spots of brown ink. This card presents a rare opportunity to acquire an extremely attractive example of one of the most classic of all nineteenth-century baseball cards at a small fraction of the cost of a higher-grade example with a very similar appearance. Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $2,938
