Babe Ruth

There may be no name more associated with the game of baseball, or more recognized around the world, than that of Babe Ruth. His legend has endured for seventy years since his passing and throughout the century since his debut on the Major League stage. In the world of collecting, Ruth items are often on lists of the most desirable or most valuable, and this auction features scores of outstanding Ruth items, many of which are presented very rarely and are sure to excite collectors.

The Featured section of this auction packs a powerful punch with respect to Ruth items. Two rookie cards, one with the rare Standard Biscuit back and the other with the rare Gimbels back, are offered for consideration. A 1917 Standard Biscuit Ruth, one of only a few known to exist, is offered for the first time in more than a decade. A superb 1932 game-used bat, dating to Ruth’s “Called Shot” season is also present as is a PSA 8 single-signed ball, a team-signed ball from the 1927 Murderer’s Row team, and an Exhibit card featuring the signature of Ruth, Gehrig, Dickey, and Gomez. An assortment of Goudeys, caramel cards, strip cards, and Exhibit cards are scattered throughout the auction, while a late addition collection viewable only online presents a 1917 Collins-McCarthy, a 1928 Harrington’s, a 1933 Uncle Jack’s Candy, and several other desirable playing-era cards.
