Graded MINT 96 by SGC. This is the ONLY example graded at this level with none higher! In fact, out of 202 examples evaluated by SGC to date, this is the only example (of any player) to ever receive a grade of MINT 96! Outstanding ultra-high-grade example of #129 Mike Mowrey from the 1916 H801-9 Globe Clothing Store set issued in 1916. The 1916 H801-9 Globe set is identical to M101-4 Sporting News
except for the different advertisement on the reverse. Though M101-4s are listed in the American Card Catalog
as being issued with various backs, Jefferson Burdick elected to assign the Globe Clothing Store backs their own catalog number (H801-9). The card is bright, crisp, and perfectly clean, front and back, with a flawless surface, four sharp corners, and outstanding centering (a very slight tilt to the image is mentioned strictly for accuracy). The reverse has the "The Globe" advertisement boldly printed in black. This is a superb and very rare high-grade sample from the H801-9 Globe Clothing Store set that would be a worthy addition to any world-class vintage baseball-card collection. Reserve $200.
