Superb complete set of 1953 Bowman "Frontier Days," highlighted by eighty-four cards professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA. In 1950 the Bowman Gum Company issued the classic Wild West series featuring beautiful color artwork capturing the spirit of the "Old West." The gorgeous color artwork and remarkable detail made this a smash hit immediately. By 1953 the Bowman Company was on the ropes financially. To inexpensively create a new product to generate badly needed revenue, Bowman produced what some collectors refer to as the "panic" issue, Frontier Days. To cut costs, Bowman simply used the artwork of the very successful former set Wild West to produce the Frontier Days series. PSA Grading Composite: MINT 9 (1 card): #28 (MC). NM-MT 8 (29 cards): #18, 23 (OC), 24 (OC), 26, 35 (OC), 37, 39, 45 (OC), 46-48, 51, 54, 58, 70, 72 (OC), 74, 76, 82, 96, 101, 102, 103 (OC), 106 (OC), 108 (OC), 111 (OC), 116 (OC), 122, and 126.
