Presented is a very attractive high-grade complete set of these scarce and colorful tobacco cards, with thirty-seven cards ranging from Ex to Nr/Mt, one Vg-Ex+, six Vg-Ex, one Vg+, two Vg, and three lesser. In the following condition composite, cards are identified by the numbers provided by the American Tobacco Cards Price Guide checklist. The complete SGC condition composite follows: NM 84 (4 cards): #8, 22, 23, and 40. EX/NM 80 (7 cards): #6, 12, 15, 19, 21, 39, and 46. EX+ 70 (5 cards): #14, 17, 20, 31, and 48. Issued with Allen & Ginter Cigarettes, the set is entitled "Arms of All Nations." The cards feature beautiful colorful lithographs of men from all around the world holding various weapons. The back of each card features the checklist for the set. This is an extremely attractive set, with fascinating subject matter, and with outstanding eye-appeal. This set is from the collection of a very advanced longtime nonsport collector. Allen & Ginter's "Arms of All Nations" are rarely offered as a complete set (in fact this is the first complete set we have ever sold in the last thirteen years), and are highly prized by nineteenth-century nonsport tobacco-card collectors. Total: 50 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+.
