Collection of 39 vintage real-photo baseball postcards dating from the early 1900s. With the exception of one card (capturing the 1934 All-American team in Japan), no Major League Players are featured here. Instead, we are provided with images of long-forgotten town teams, school clubs, and unidentified individual players. Twelve of the postcards have been addressed and mailed, with the postmarks ranging in date from 1907 to 1914. Included among the few identified teams are "The Famous Cherokee Indian Base Ball Club," the "Attica Base Ball Team, Attica, N. Y.," the 1908 "Wolftown Base Ball Team," The Unites States Army "Camp Devens Baseball Team," and the 1909 "Allentown Prep Base Ball Team. Twenty-three cards picture teams and 6 capture individual players. The remainder include game-in-progress scenes, images of baseball fields, and composites. All display wear commensurate with their age, but none have any significant flaws. In Excellent condition overall. Total: 39 real-photo postcards. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
