Two cards from this extremely rare cabinet-card set issued in 1911 by Jones, Keyser & Arras Studios of New York City. Each card is graded and encapsulated by SGC: #304 William Dahlen (GOOD+ 35, only example graded by SGC) and 329 Harry Lord (FAIR 20, only example graded by SGC). Little is known about exactly how this unusual and remarkably high quality set was issued. Each cabinet card (4.75 x 7.25 inches) in the set features a mounted sepia-toned photograph on the front and the studio's name and address in the lower left on the reverse. This is one of the rarest and most substantial of all prewar issues, and even finding a sample card from this set is very challenging. Both cards display flawless photographs and even corner wear. Dahlen has chipping along the edges of the reverse, and Lord has evidence of pencil writing on the reverse, both of which accounts for their assigned grades. Total: 2 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+.
