Ornate blue-felt pennant issued for the 1955 World Series between the New York Yankees and Brooklyn Dodgers. This is the rarest of the pennants issued for that historic series and the first example we have ever offered. The design features illustrations of both Yankee Stadium and Ebbets Fields alongside the names of each club's respective manager. Both team names are displayed to the right, as is a representation of a baseball lettered "World Series 1955." A gold-braid and feathery red string adorn the left border instead of standard tassels. The pennant (29 inches in length) displays light wear, including a small clip to one of the two tips, tack holes, a small circular tear along the bottom border. In Excellent condition overall. Reserve $500. Estimate (open).
