Exceedingly rare Brooklyn Dodgers pennant dating from the club's 1920 pennant-winning season. This is the first example we have ever handled and we can only recall having seen one other at auction in the past fifteen years. The green/blue felt pennant features a generic player leaping to catch a ball, with the team name, "Brooklyn Dodgers" lettered in white. The lettering running down the red border on the right reads "Champions-1920." The pennant (26.5 inches in length), which is complete with its original tassels, is unusual in that it was produced with two metal grommets (one on each end of the right border). Heavy wear is displayed throughout, including tack holes, a few small edge tears, crazing to the lettering, and moderate soiling. In Very Good condition overall. Reserve $500. Estimate (open).
