Collection of 29 signed cards from the Perez-Steele Great Moments Postcards. One of the most beautiful sets ever issued, Perez-Steele's Great Moments set began publication in 1985. The offering was limited to 5,000 numbered sets with periodical updates. The set is fashioned after the colorful T-3 Turkey Red cabinet cards of 1911 and salutes the defining moments in the careers of Baseball Hall of Famers. The complete set is composed of 108 cards, which were issued in nine twelve-card series. Of the 108 cards in the set, only seventy could have possibly been signed by all of the players depicted on the card (two cards picture more than one player). The other thirty-six cards depict players who died prior to the set's issue. This collection is composed of the first six series (72 cards total), 29 of which have been signed on the front by the respective player. All of the cards in the offered collection originate from set number "3832/5,000." Unless otherwise noted, the signatures have all been scripted in blue Sharpie and grade "9" or "10." Near Mint condition overall. The 29 signed cards in this collection are #2 Kaline, 5 Ford, 11 Musial, 13 T. Williams, 14 Spahn, 16 Koufax, 17 Roberts, 19 Mantle, 21 Banks, 23 Mize (blue ink), 26 Reese, 27 Irvin, 28 Mathews, 29 Slaughter, 31 Gehringer, 23 Snider, 34 Dandridge, 36 Doerr, 37 Dickey, 38 Stargell, 39 B. Robinson, 41 Herman, 43 Aparicio, 44 Gomez, 48 Killebrew, 53 Berra, 58 Leonard (stray vertical blue-Sharpie line near base), 65 Mays, and 70 Ferrell. Total: 72 cards (29 signed).
