Collection of 29 single-signed balls, including 24 signed by Hall of Famers (representing 20 different players). Unless otherwise noted, each ball is either an official National or American ball (dating from the 1980s or later) and has been signed in blue ink across the sweet spot. On fifteen of the balls, players have added a few notations (such as their HOF induction year, career statistics, catch phrase, etc.) either below or next to their signature (sometimes extending into a side panel). Signatures range from “7” to “10,” averaging “9.” Each ball has been individually authenticated by either JSA or PSA/DNA and has an authentication label affixed to the ball. JSA has authenticated 21 balls, but only 19 are accompanied by the corresponding COA. PSA/DNA has authenticated 8 balls, but only 4 are accompanied by the corresponding COA. All of the balls displays varying degrees of scattered age toning and are otherwise in Near Mint condition. The number of signed balls for each player, if more than one, is noted in parenthesis. The collection is composed of the following: Hall of Famers (24 balls total): Aaron (on an official MLB ball), Appling (2; one in green ink), Ashburn, Bench, Boggs (on an official 1996 World Series ball), Feller (3), Gehringer, Herman, Lemon (black marker), Lopez, Mathews (2), Mays, McCovey (on an official MLB ball), Musial, Rizzuto, B. Robinson (on a Rawlings “Gold Glove Award” ball), F. Robinson, Sewell, Smith, and Snider. Non Hall of Famers (5 balls total): Mel Allen, Harvey Haddix, Don Larsen, Mark McGwire, and Vada Pinson. Total: 29 signed balls. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA. Pre certified by Steve Grad and Brian Sobrero/Beckett Authentication. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+.
