This collection is composed of a large-format photo and six bats, each individually signed by a member of the 1961 World Champion New York Yankees. The highlight of the group is a 16 x 20-inch black-and-white photo capturing Mickey Mantle sitting on the steps of the dugout at Fenway Park. Mantle has flawlessly inscribed the photo "Mickey Mantle 1961" in blue Sharpie (grading "10") in the upper right corner. The photo is in apparent Near Mint condition and has been matted and framed to total dimensions of 22 x 26 inches. The six bats are all full-size (33 or 34 inches) blank-barrel examples (meaning no player name stamped on the barrel) produced by either Rawlings or Louisville Slugger. All have been signed on the barrel in blue Sharpie (grading "10") and include special notations by the players relating to the 1961 season. The signatures are those of Bob Turley (2 bats), Bobby Richardson, Hector Lopez, Moose Skowron, and Clete Boyer. The Lopez, Skowron, and Boyer bats each display a price-code label affixed to the back of the barrel; otherwise all are in Near Mint to Mint condition. The Mantle photo is accompanied by a full LOA from James Spence/JSA, while each of the bats is accompanied by an individual COA from James Spence/JSA. Pre certified by Steve Grad and Brian Sobrero/Beckett Authentication. The substantial size/weight of this item requires that there will be a shipping charge for this lot (which will vary depending upon where it is being shipped). The shipping charge will be billed separately from the auction invoice. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000.
