Extremely rare and very likely unique collection of fifty-eight progressive-proof cards from the 1962 and 1965 Topps sets. Each of the offered cards possesses a subtle difference when compared to the final-issue card, which makes them particularly noteworthy and desirable among advanced collectors. The collection consists of the following: 1) 1962 Topps (30 cards): All hand cut, magenta-only progressive proofs, intended for use by the printer to help check and correct colors prior to printing production quantities, with blank backs. Condition is 37% Ex (including a couple Ex-Mt), 27% Vg-Ex, 23% Vg, and 13% lesser. Keys: #1 Maris (Vg), 20 Colavito (Ex), 30 Mathews (Vg+), 52 NL Batting Ldrs - Clemente (Pr due to staple holes), 58 NL Win Ldrs - Spahn (Vg), 99 Powell RC (Vg), and 100 Spahn (Vg-Ex). 2) 1965 Topps (28 cards): All hand cut progressive proofs, intended for use by the printer to help check and correct colors prior to printing production quantities, with blank backs. Condition is 18% Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt, 39% Ex, and 43% Vg-Ex (including one Vg). This is an extremely unusual and fascinating collection of Topps rarities that would be very much at home in even the most advanced Topps or proof-card collections. Total: 58 cards. Reserve $300.
