Presented is a 1952 Topps near-complete set of 391 cards (of the 407 different in the set) plus sixty-nine low-number back variations, for a total of 460 cards. Missing just the following sixteen cards for completion: #261 Mays, 311 Mantle, 326, 335, 341, 345, 350, 373, 384 Crosetti, 388, 396 D. Williams, 397, 398, 401, 403, and 407 Mathews. A total of forty-nine cards have been professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA (25) or SGC (24). This is an outstanding opportunity to acquire a near-complete set of 1952 Topps, the premier postwar gum-card set, without spending the fortune that this set would cost in a higher grade, or the considerably higher amount that it would almost certainly cost to put this set together one card at a time. While the condition of cards from this set spans several grades, even the lesser-graded cards are very pleasing and exhibit bright colors and crisp focus.

The low-numbers (#1-310) grade as follows: 45% Ex to Ex-Mt (including a few Nr/Mt), 45% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 10% lesser (including two with color added and ten with a slight trim). The rare high-numbers (#311-407) grade as follows: 17% Ex to Ex-Mt, 24% Vg-Ex, 34% Gd to Vg, and 25% lesser (including one trimmed). Low-Number Keys (#1-310): #1 Pafko (red back, Gd), two 2 Runnels (black and red back, both Vg), 11 Rizzuto (red back, Vg), two 20 Loes RC (black back, Vg-Ex, and red back, Fr), two 22 DiMaggio (black back, Ex, and red back, 15/85 L/R, otherwise Vg-Ex), two 26 Irvin (black back, EX 60, and red back, Vg-Ex), two 29 Kluszewski (black and red back, both Vg), two 33 Spahn (black back, Fr due to tape on front, and red back, erased pencil on reverse, otherwise Vg-Ex), two 36 Hodges (black back, Vg-Ex, and red back, trimmed, otherwise Ex-Mt), 37 Snider (black back, VG-EX 4), two 48b Page/correct bio (black back, Vg, and red back, Ex+), two 49b Sain/correct bio (black back, VG-EX 4, and red back, VG+ 45), two 57 Lopat (black back, diamond cut, otherwise Ex, and red back, Vg+), two 59 Roberts (black back, Fr, and red back, 85/15 L/R, otherwise Ex), two 65 Slaughter (black back, Vg-Ex, and red back, Vg), 66 Roe (black back, 85/15 L/R, otherwise Ex+), two 67 Reynolds (black back, Ex+, and red back, Ex-Mt), 88 Feller (Gd), 91 Schoendienst (Vg+), 122 Jensen (Vg+), 129 Mize (Vg-Ex), 175 Martin RC (Vg), 191 Berra (Gd+), 195 Minoso RC (Ex-Mt), 200 Houk (VG-EX 4), 215 Bauer (Vg-Ex+), 216 Ashburn (Vg-Ex), 227 Garagiola (Ex), 243 Doby (Gd+), 246 Kell (Gd), 250 Erskine (Vg-Ex), 268 Lemon (Ex), 274 Branca (VG 40), and 277 Wynn (VG 40). Additional graded low-numbers: PSA EX-MT 6 (7 cards): #50, 69, 186, 226, 233 (SGC EX/NM 80), 296 (SGC EX/NM 80), and 300 (SGC EX/NM 80). SGC EX+ 70 (2 cards): #260 and 281. SGC EX 60 (5 cards): #17 (red back), 21 (red back, PSA EX 5), 44 (black back), 85 (PSA EX 5), and 161. High-Number Keys (#311-407): #312 Robinson (POOR 10), 313 Thomson (VG+ 45), 314 Campanella (Pr due to tape on front), 315 Durocher (FAIR 20), 321 Black RC (Vg-Ex), 333 Reese (VG 40), 342 Labine RC (Pr), 344 Blackwell (Gd), 357 Burgess (Gd), 369 Groat RC (signed, otherwise defaced), 372 McDougald RC (85/15 L/R, otherwise Vg-Ex), 377 Dressen (pen mark on reverse, otherwise Vg), 382 Jones RC (Fr due to paper loss on reverse), 392 Wilhelm RC (Vg+), 394 Herman (Vg-Ex), 400 Dickey (Fr due to paper loss on reverse), and 406 Nuxhall RC (VG/EX 50). PSA VG 3 (3 cards): #348, 355, and 374. PSA GOOD 2 (1 card): #371. SGC FAIR 20 (1 card): #347. SGC VG/EX+ 55 (1 card): #15 (red back). PSA VG-EX 4 (3 cards): #49 (black back), 63 (black back), and 287 (SGC VG/EX 50). PSA VG 3 (3 cards): #125, 169, and 301.

Also, included with the set, as noted above, are an additional sixty-nine low-numbers (#1-80) representing the red- and black-back variations of these cards. Missing only eleven back variations (#1, 11, 12, 13, 37, 51, 66, 68, 73, 79, and 80) for completion of all the red and black-back variations from the low-number series (#1-80). The amazing thing about a quality low- to mid-grade 1952 Topps set such as this is the outstanding value it offers compared to cards in higher grade, as well as the comfort provided by the natural potential "break value" associated with such a set. This is a rarely offered, very pleasing mixed-grade complete set of one of baseball-card collecting's premier issues, with numerous significant highlights. Total: 460 cards (near-complete of 391 plus sixty-nine low-number back variations).
