15% Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt, 59% Vg-Ex to Ex, and 26% Gd to Vg (including a couple lesser and a couple that measure small). 1954 Bowman baseball is one of the most outstanding values among all early 1950s sets. This is a very attractive mid-grade set (no #66 Williams) needing just a few upgrades. Two key cards (Mantle and Mays) are graded by PSA. Keys: #1 Rizzuto (Vg-Ex+), 6 Fox (Gd), 15 Ashburn (Vg+), 45 Kiner (Vg), 50 Kell (Vg-Ex), 57 Wilhelm (Vg-Ex), 58 Reese (Ex), 62 Slaughter (Ex), 64 Mathews (2/98 T/B, otherwise Vg-Ex), 65 Mantle (VG 3), 66 Piersall (Gd+), 84 Doby (Vg+), 89 Mays (VG-EX 4), 90 Campanella (Gd), 95 Roberts (20/80 T/B, otherwise Ex-Mt), 101 Larsen (Vg+), 110 Schoendienst (25/75 T/B, otherwise Nr/Mt), 132 Feller (Vg), 138 Hodges (90/10 L/R, otherwise Vg-Ex+), 145 Martin (Ex+), 161 Berra (Pr-Fr due to glue on reverse), 164 Wynn (Vg), 170 Snider (Vg-Ex+), 177 Ford (Ex), and 196 Lemon (Vg). Also included is a variation of #67 Carl Scheib. Crisp, clean, and extremely attractive complete set of one of the most overlooked issues from the 1950s. Total: 225 cards (complete set of 224 plus one variation). Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+.
