42% Ex to Ex-Mt (mostly Ex), 43% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 15% lesser. Very attractive mixed-grade complete set (minus two) of 1952 Bowman baseball, highlighted by a fairly high-grade example of key card Mickey Mantle. Missing only #145 Mize and 218 Mays for completion. We have selected three cards to be graded by SGC. Keys: #1 Berra (VG/EX+ 55), 4 Roberts (Vg-Ex), 8 Reese (Vg+), 11 Kiner (Ex), 21 Fox (Vg-Ex+), 23 Lemon (Vg-Ex+), 30 Schoendienst (slightly miscut top edge, otherwise Ex), 33 McDougald RC (Ex), 43 Feller (Gd+), 44 Campanella (Gd), 52 Rizzuto (Vg), 53 Ashburn (Vg-Ex+), 75 Kell (Vg-Ex), 80 Hodges (pencil marks on front, otherwise Ex), 101 Mantle (EX+ 70), 116 Snider (Ex+), 142 Wynn (Ex), 146 Durocher (Gd+), 156 Spahn (Gd), 162 Irvin (Ex+), 196 Musial (GOOD+ 35), 217 Stengel (Vg), 232 Slaughter (Pr), and 252 Crosetti (Pr). It's easy to see why sets in mixed grades put together by collectors long ago are always in high demand. They are great-looking cards, they don't cost a fortune as do high-grade sets, and represent a great collecting value. A relatively affordable yet still very attractive complete set of this classic, early 1950s Bowman issue. Total: 250 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000+.
