Collection of three particularly rare display boxes representing three classic 1950s Bowman baseball card sets: 1950, 1954, and 1955. 1) 1950 Bowman One-Cent Box (5.25 x 6.5 inches): The display box originally housed 120 penny packs of this popular issue. The lid of the box features a red, white, and blue illustration of a generic baseball player along with the words "Full Color Pictures Of Your Favorite Players - Baseball Picture Card And Gum - Save the Complete Set" printed in blue and red. Presenting as Very Good, the box retains its original bright colors and displays traces of light shelf wear at the corners and along the edges. Very light creasing is present on all the panels under close inspection and a couple small spots of paper loss on the top panel, none of which detract from the impressive display value. 2) 1954 Bowman One-Cent Box (7.75 x 5.5 inches): The display box originally housed 120 penny packs of this popular issue. The lid of the box features an illustration of a generic baseball player with a stadium background along with the words "Baseball - Full Color Picture Card And Bubble Gum" printed in white. Presenting as Excellent, the box retains its original bright colors and displays traces of light shelf wear at the corners and along the edges. A half-inch tear and a crease are present on the back panel under close inspection and a couple small spots of surface scuffing on the side panels, none of which detract from the impressive display value. 3) 1955 Bowman Five-Cent Box (7.75 x 5.5 inches): The display box originally housed twenty-four nickel packs of this popular issue. The lid of the box features an illustration of a generic baseball player catching a baseball along with the words "Bowman's Baseball - 9 Picture Cards And Bubble Gum" printed. The box retains its original bright colors and displays several areas of moisture staining, none of which detract from the impressive display value. This is a tremendous collection of rarely seen material from three of postwar-card collecting's greatest classics, which would be worthy companions to any complete set of Bowman cards (1950, 1954, or 1955) or additions to any advertising or display-box collection. Total: 3 boxes. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
