Presented is a collection of 317 cards from the legendary 1952 Topps set, highlighted by 273 different low-number series cards (#1-310) as well as thirty-three black-back variations (#1-80). Also included are eleven duplicates. Seventeen cards are professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA or SGC. Condition of this collection is 11% Vg-Ex (including some Ex), 34% Vg, 44% Fr to Gd, and 11% lesser. Keys: Two #11 Rizzuto (Gd, black back and Pr, red back), 22 DiMaggio (Vg), three 26 Irvin (two black backs, PSA VG-EX 4 [MK] and Pr, red back, Gd+), two 29 Kluszewski (black backs, GOOD 2 and Fr), 33 Spahn (FR 1.5), 36 Hodges (99/1 T/B, otherwise Vg+), two 37 Snider (black backs, FR 1.5 and Fr), two 59 Roberts (black back, GOOD 2 and red back, Gd+), two 65 Slaughter (black backs, FR 1.5 and Fr), 88 Feller (Pr), 129 Mize (Vg+), 195 Minoso (GOOD 2), 200 Houk (Vg+), 216 Ashburn (GOOD 2), 227 Garagiola (VG 3), 243 Doby (VG 3), 246 Kell (Vg+), 268 Lemon (Pr), and 277 Wynn (Gd+). Additional PSA-graded cards: Three GOOD 2: #5, 7, and 61. Two FR 1.5: #25 and 27. One FR 1.5: #67 (MK). One PR 1: #3. To many, 1952 Topps is the ultimate postwar baseball-card set. This is an attractive low- to medium-grade partial set of one of card collecting's greatest and most revered classics, in a very desirable and relatively affordable grade (compared to the much greater cost of higher-grade 1952 Topps cards) and representing a very substantial start toward a complete set. Total: 317 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000++.
