Extremely substantial "shoebox" collection of 1,510 Bowman baseball cards spanning the years 1949 to 1955. This lot is highlighted by more than one hundred Hall of Famers, including three Mickey Mantle cards. The condition of the cards spans several grades, which is to be expected from an original-owner collection, such as this, in which the cards were played with and enjoyed over time. Condition varies greatly, ranging from Pr to Vg-Ex, with many grading very modestly due to varying degrees of exposure to heat and/or moisture. Five cards have been graded and encapsulated by PSA (all submitted by REA). 1) 1949 Bowman (12 cards): Two Vg, six Gd, and four Fr. Key: #24 Musial (Fr). 2) 1950 Bowman (75 cards): Including 68 different. Condition is 33% Vg, 50% Fr to Gd, and 17% Pr. Keys: #35 Slaughter (Fr), 37 Appling (Fr), 39 Doby (Fr), 77 Snider (Vg), 84 Ashburn (Fr-Gd), 217 Stengel (Pr-Fr), and two 220 Durocher (Gd+ and Pr). 3) 1951 Bowman (342 cards): Including 236 different.
