Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Presented is a very attractive midgrade example of this Babe Ruth classic. The 1948-1949 Leaf Bubble Gum card of Ruth is one of the most popular and striking of all Babe Ruth cards. It is on virtually every short list of the most classic and recognizable of all postwar baseball cards. The offered card is crisp and clean, with off-white borders framing a virtually flawless image which is centered just a touch to the bottom. Four solid corners showing moderate and even wear. The reverse displays very light wax staining. In our opinion, this card was conservatively graded and would not look out of place in a higher-grade holder. This is a very attractive yet relatively affordable (compared to what this card would sell for in higher grade) example of one of the icons of postwar-card collecting. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
