Extremely attractive complete set of W519 (unnumbered) strip cards, entirely graded and encapsulated by SGC (submitted by REA). This classic 1920-era strip-card issue consists of ten cards, and Babe Ruth is unquestionably the key card. Originally issued in strips, these cards (and almost all strip-cards) are often found with irregularly cut borders as they were cut by hand from the strips, as intended. Each of the offered cards is cut relatively neatly and has been graded FAIR 20 (except one GOOD 30 as noted) by SGC. This collection consists of the following: Cicotte (Black Sox), Collins (HOF), Cravath (GOOD 30), Frisch (HOF), Gleason, Kreuger, Marquard (HOF), Morton, Murphy, and Ruth (HOF). Each card is downgraded by SGC due to a light ink stamp on the blank reverse. Almost all cards present at a superior level to that suggested by the assigned grades. This is a very desirable complete set of one of the 1920s most classic strip-card issues. Total: 10 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
