Collection of twenty-five different (plus one duplicate) 1914 E145 Cracker Jack cards including three Hall of Famers (#3 Tinker, 133 Rickey, and 136 Maranville), each graded and encapsulated by SGC (with the exception of four ungraded, as noted). The 1914 #144 series Cracker Jacks are far rarer than their 1915 counterparts, because the 1914 cards were not available by mail, and could only be obtained one card per package in boxes of Cracker Jacks. Because of their method of issue, 1914 Cracker Jacks are also almost always found with various condition problems including caramel staining. SGC Grading Composite: Eleven FAIR 20: #5, 27, 44, 81, 87, 92, 108, 120, 127, 128, and 144 J. Walsh. Eight POOR 10: #3 Tinker (HOF), 4, 9, 55, 96, 111, 114, and 129. Three Authentic: #133 Rickey (HOF), 136 Maranville (HOF), and 138. Four Ungraded: #5 (Fr), 8 (Gd), 38 (Fr), and 140 (Pr). Despite the modest assigned grades, this is a very attractive collection of cards, with many downgraded due to minor technical flaws commonly found on 1914 Cracker Jack cards. An outstanding grouping from one of card collecting's most classic sets. Total: 26 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+.
