Graded EX 60 by SGC (submitted by REA). This is the only example graded at this level with none higher! Presented is legendary New York Giants Hall of Famer John McGraw, one of the key cards from the extremely rare cabinet-card set issued in 1911 by Jones, Keyser & Arras Studios of New York City. Little is known about exactly how this unusual and remarkably high quality set was issued. Each card in the set features a mounted sepia-toned photograph on the front and the studio's name and address in the lower left on the reverse. This is one of the rarest of all John McGraw cards. Even a sample card from this set is extremely rare. To date, SGC has only encapsulated thirty-four cards (of all subjects). The cabinet card (4.75 x 7.25 inches) has a perfectly crisp and clean mounted photograph and light, even wear at the corners. The blank reverse shows light foxing and very minor chipping along the edges that is not at all visible from the front. One of the most striking and substantial of all John McGraw cards, this is the first 1911 Jones, Keyser & Arras McGraw that we have ever offered. From the Dan Gantt Collection. Reserve $1,000.
