Presented is a collection of eight 1910-1911 T3 Turkey Red cabinet cards, highlighted by six Hall of Famers. While the condition of this collection is generally modest overall, other tobacco cards of the era, such as T206, are far easier to find in a relatively affordable low grade. This is because Turkey Reds, which were issued only by mail as premiums in exchange for coupons, are considerably rarer than most other classic 1910-era tobacco cards. This is an outstanding group that is ideal for the collector who is interested in Turkey Reds but does not want to spend a fortune. This collection consists of the following:
#1 Brown (Fr), 5 Crawford (pencil writing on back, otherwise Gd), 6 Chase (Fr-Gd), 8 Clarke (erased writing on back, otherwise Gd+), 16 Evers (erased writing on back, otherwise Vg), 17 Griffith (erased writing on back, otherwise Vg), 102 Kling (erased writing on back, otherwise Vg), and 125 Walsh (ad back, pencil writing on back, otherwise Gd). T3s are big cards; due to their large size they tend to be more subject to corner wear, creases, and condition issues than smaller cards. This is a very attractive collection of eight cards, including six Hall of Famers, from this classic issue. Total: 8 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
