Outstanding collection of nine different cards from the extremely rare 1914 T222 Fatima Cigarettes card. This collection is highlighted by four of the fifteen short-printed cards, which make completing the set especially challenging. Issued in 1914 by the Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company, the individual-player Fatima cards are among the most distinctive of all tobacco cards and are much rarer than the T200 Fatima team cards. The thin photographic stock and fragile glossy surface of these unusual real-photo-style cards make them especially susceptible to minor surface creases. Each of the nine cards is graded and encapsulated by SGC (submitted by REA). This collection consists of the following: One VG+ 45:
Tyler. Three GOOD+ 35:
Baumgardner (SP), Oldring, and Perdue. Two GOOD 30:
Leibold (SP) and McBride (SP). One FAIR 20:
L. Magee (SP). Two Authentic:
Brown and Burns. Each card is bright and clean, with outstanding contrast. They have generally been downgraded due to the light creasing that so often plagues cards from this issue. This is a very attractive collection of cards, including several tough short prints, from this rare and unusual prewar-card issue. Total: 9 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+.
