Graded EX 60 by SGC. Highest graded! Stunning T213 (Type 2) of Hall of Famer Frank “Home Run” Baker, one of the key cards to this elusive and extremely rare tobacco set. T213 (Type 2) Coupon Cigarettes is one of tobacco-card collecting's rarest and most overlooked sets. This is the finest T213 (Type 2) example of Baker we have ever seen or offered. 1914 T213 (Type 2) Coupon Cigarettes is a particularly interesting issue. Similar in design and borrowing the same images as T206, the T213 (Type 2) Coupon set was issued exclusively in the Louisiana area, and is far rarer than its T206 counterparts. The Coupon cards are seldom seen, and because of this receive little attention, but upon reflection we think it would be impossible for any advanced tobacco-card collector to not appreciate the intrigue and unique connection of T213 (Type 2) Coupons (as well as their extreme relative rarity) to the T206 "White Borders" set. This is an exceptional example of Baker, bright and clean with bold colors, strong registration, and near-perfect centering. The corners exhibit light, even wear commensurate with the assigned grade. These cards were produced with a thin glossy surface coating that almost always naturally creates light surface creases. Remarkably, this Frank “Home Run” Baker is free of all creasing. The back is clean with very bold and crisp print, centered to the top. This is an extraordinary high-grade example of one of the key cards in the set. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
