Near-complete set of three out of the four different Ty Cobb poses from the classic T206 White Border series, each graded and encapsulated by SGC (submitted by REA). 1) Ty Cobb/portrait, red background (Sweet Caporal) graded FAIR 20. 2) Ty Cobb/bat off shoulder (Polar Bear) graded FAIR 20. 3) Ty Cobb/bat on shoulder (Sweet Caporal) graded FAIR 20 (we grade this card slightly higher than SGC). These are very attractive low-grade examples with great eye-appeal. For the Cobb collector who is not interested in paying a king's ransom for cards in higher grade, but still wants very respectable original 1910-era cards of Ty Cobb, or the T206 set builder seeking to fill in these three big slots, this collection presents an exceptional opportunity and potentially represents an extraordinary value. Three very attractive cards (each a different pose) of the "Georgia Peach" from the most popular set of the era. The SMR value in the assigned grades (factoring in the three half-grades at the lower whole-grade level) is $1,135. Total: 3 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
